It was a few days after katrina. i was in albuquerque nm staying at the route 66 hostel. Near the hostel was a small park where the locals were having their weekly farmer's/crafts market. I went there to buy some brocoli. When i got near the brocoli i noticed that ronald mcdonald was giving away free toys to small children. Without thinking i got in his face and told him to go over to the side of the park where mcdonalds had raised a small tent and a huge jumping gym. Ostensibly mcdonalds was there raising money for hurricane victims but it was clearly a marketing ruse. I mailed your article to some friends who thought my actions were inappropriate. Thanks for writing it. It certainly is a crime. Read a magazine article in Harper's eons ago that had to do with the fact that none of the top executives at mcdonalds actually ate the food.
